Overview
The Kuching Countryside Bike Adventure is a full-day cycling experience designed for travellers with a good level of fitness, combining long-distance riding with off-the-beaten-path exploration in rural Sarawak. Covering approximately 27km over 7 hours, the route takes you through mostly flat and partly hilly terrain along country roads, rocky off-road trails, and scenic countryside landscapes between Kuching and Bau. This tour offers a rewarding physical challenge while showcasing a side of Sarawak rarely seen by casual visitors.
Along the way, riders explore hidden gold mining areas, cycle past farmhouses and plantations, and stop to visit two of the region’s most impressive limestone caves: Fairy Cave and Wind Cave (Kuching). Walk through cavernous chambers, hear bats and swiftlets overhead, and experience Sarawak both above and below ground in a single journey. The adventure concludes in Bau Town with a well-earned local lunch, before returning to Kuching, making this an ideal choice for active travellers seeking a deeper, more immersive countryside experience.
