Overview

Being the second largest city in Sabah, Sandakan City was once the capital of British North Borneo. It became a commercial trading centre and served as a major port for merchants from Europe, Java, Arabia, China and Japan. In recent years, Sandakan has quickly become Sabah’s top destination for tourists due to its exquisite nature, biodiversity and rich cultural heritage.

This package will bring you to a day trip of Sandakan City exploration, including visitation to Observation Pavillion to get an eagle’s perspective of Sandakan’s panoramic view, Central Market to look for the freshest local produce, witness the magnificent architecture filled with extravagant reds and golds in Puu Jih Shih Temple and lastly, explore one of the oldest building that survives through WWII, St. Michael’s Church, to see one of the few stone building that still remains in Sabah.
