Escape to Rawa Island Resort, a family-friendly island resort located within Sultan Iskandar Marine Park in Johor. Approximately 30 minutes by speedboat from Mersing, the resort offers a naturally sheltered white sandy beach, clear South China Sea waters and a shallow coral reef just metres from shore. 

Choose from hillside, beach view, beachfront and water villa accommodation, with room configurations available for couples, families and small groups. Each full-board package includes a minimum two-night stay, daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, a welcome drink and return speedboat transfers between Mersing and Rawa Island.

Rooms & Facilities

Rawa Island Resort offers 77 air-conditioned rooms with en suite bathrooms, hot water and fresh-water showers. Hillside Deluxe rooms suit guests who prefer a quieter setting surrounded by greenery, while Beach View and Beachfront rooms provide easier access to the main beach. Frangipani rooms are located farther from the restaurant near a separate beach, offering greater privacy, while Water Villas are ideal for couples and travellers seeking uninterrupted sea views. Selected categories offer two-bedroom or two-double-bed configurations for families and small groups. WiFi, cable television and tea and coffee-making facilities are available at the restaurant and bar rather than inside the rooms.

The resort’s Restaurant & Beach Bar serves local and international dishes, with breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the full-board package. Meals are generally served buffet-style, although set meals may be provided when there are fewer than 20 guests. A barbecue dinner is typically held at the outdoor pavilion on Saturday evenings. Outside food and drinks are not permitted, while corkage charges apply to alcohol brought to the resort.

Note

  • All rates are displayed in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). 
  • A minimum stay of two nights is required. 
  • Guests must register at Mersing at least 15 minutes before the scheduled speedboat departure. 
  • Speedboat schedules must be reconfirmed 24 hours before departure and may change according to tide, sea and weather conditions. 
  • Room capacity and bedding arrangements vary by room category. Extra mattresses are subject to the selected room’s maximum occupancy and may incur an additional charge. 
  • Children aged 4 to 12 qualify for child rates. Guests aged 13 and above are charged as adults, while infants aged 0 to 3 stay complimentary. 
  • Watersports, equipment rental, scuba diving and other optional activities are not included unless specifically stated. Availability is subject to weather and sea conditions. 
  • Fishing and jet skiing are prohibited within the marine park. 
  • Marine Park conservation charges, Johor National Park charges and parking at Mersing are not included in the package price. 
  • Tourism Tax (TTX) of MYR 10/room/night is applicable for Non-Malaysian guests – to be paid to the hotel. 
  • Check-In: 2:00 PM onwards; Check-Out: 12:00 PM 
  • Strictly no smoking allowed in any of the rooms. 
  • Hair dryer, iron and ironing board are available upon request.
