Important Notes

Pre-Course Requirements & Check-in:

  • Medical Fitness: You must review the PADI Diver Medical Statement [RSTC Medical Statement] before booking. If you answer 'YES' to any question, written medical clearance from a physician stating you are "Fit To Dive" is mandatory before starting any in-water activities. Present this clearance on Day 1.
  • Water Skills: Basic swimming ability is required (details in Prerequisites section).
  • Registration: On Day 1, please bring photo identification (MyKad for Malaysians, Passport for Internationals) for registration purposes.
  • Voucher: Please present your mobile or printed booking voucher (received from SabahTravel.com after booking) to the Dive Centre staff/Instructor upon arrival/check-in.

Safety & Health Regulations:

  • No-Fly Time: You must not fly for at least 18 hours after your last dive. Please schedule your departure flights accordingly.
  • Boat Journey Suitability: The boat rides to the island dive sites can be bumpy. This activity may not be suitable for pregnant women or individuals with certain health conditions (e.g., serious heart/lung issues, recent surgery, significant back/spinal problems). Consult your physician before booking if you have any concerns.
  • Insurance: Purchasing comprehensive personal travel insurance and dive accident insurance (e.g., DAN) is highly recommended before your trip.

Course & Logistics:

  • Performance-Based Certification: PADI certification is awarded based on meeting specific performance requirements demonstrating mastery of skills and knowledge. It is not guaranteed solely by participation. Additional training may be required if standards are not met (potentially at extra cost).
  • Itinerary & Timings: Departure/pick-up times are approximate and subject to change based on weather, sea conditions, or traffic. The Tour Operator/Dive Centre reserves the right to alter routes, dive sites, schedules, or cancel activities if conditions are deemed unsafe or beyond control.
  • Operator Communication: Should transfers be delayed or if you need assistance during the course, please contact the telephone number provided on your booking voucher.

General:

  • Personal Belongings: Please secure your valuables. SabahTravel.com and the Tour Operator/Dive Centre are not liable for loss or damage to personal items. Waterproof bags are recommended.
  • Tipping: Gratuities for your PADI Instructor and boat crew are not required but are always appreciated for excellent service and guidance.
