The MalaysiaTravel.com team met Tourism Selangor and tourism industry stakeholders on 17 July 2026 at Puncak ALOP, Selangor, to introduce the platform and demonstrate how its digital capabilities can support tourism businesses and travellers.
Attendees included Chua Yee Ling, CEO of Tourism Selangor; Nigel Wong, the newly re-elected President of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA); several MATTA members; and Selangor tour operators.
The session combined an introduction to MalaysiaTravel.com with a live platform demonstration and discussions on how digital technology can strengthen the visibility, distribution and bookability of tourism products in Selangor.
A Practical Look at the Platform
Most of the session was dedicated to a live demonstration, giving attendees a practical view of how MalaysiaTravel.com works beyond the presentation slides.
The demonstration walked participants through the digital travel journey, showing how travellers can discover tourism products, review relevant information and complete their bookings through an online marketplace. It also provided a closer look at how operators can present and manage their products through the platform.
By demonstrating the platform in real time, the MalaysiaTravel.com team was able to show how its features connect different stages of the customer journey, from initial online discovery to booking and payment.
Helping Tourism Operates Navigate Digital Challenges
Tourism operators today are expected to manage several digital and operational requirements at once. These can include maintaining a website and social media presence, creating content, investing in search marketing, operatingan online booking system and accepting digital payments.
The presentation also highlighted the importance of instant booking, dynamic pricing, customer support, reviews, inventory management and live availability in converting traveller interest into confirmed bookings.
MalaysiaTravel.com brings these functions together within a B2B2C travel marketplace, connecting tourism suppliers and operators with travellers through a shared digital platform.
For tourism businesses, this means having a central channel through which products can be presented, managedand booked online. For travellers, it creates a more convenient way to find and compare Malaysian tourism experiences before making a reservation.
Strengthening Selangor's Digital Tourism Presence
The meeting provided MalaysiaTravel.com with an opportunity to engage directly with Tourism Selangor, MATTA representatives and local tour operators while demonstrating how the platform could support the state’s tourism industry.
It also created space for industry stakeholders to explore how stronger digital visibility, real-time product information and a smoother booking journey could help Selangor tourism products reach more travellers.
“Selangor has a wide range of tourism experiences, but strong products also need strong digital visibility and a seamless booking journey,” said Peter Stenberg Hansen, CEO of MalaysiaTravel.com, adding, “This session allowed us to demonstrate how MalaysiaTravel.com can bring those elements together and make Malaysian experiences easier for travellers to discover and book.”
Through continued engagement with tourism organisations and operators, MalaysiaTravel.com aims to make the country’s travel experiences more accessible online while equipping local businesses with the digital tools needed to compete in an increasingly connected tourism market.
